Pygmy Hedgehog Packs His Tiny Bags And Goes Camping in Adorable Photo Shoot

Hedgehog s adorable photo shoot…

Azuki’s [now tragically spending his time at the Rainbow Bridge, but succeeded by Monaka and Uiro] and Uni and Toro’s Instagram feeds are maybe the best examples of this. These pygmy hedgehogs live in Japan with their adoring owners.

Pygmy hedgehogs are nocturnal and wild, earning their name since they are the smallest hedgehog breed. Keeping them as pets is legal in several countries as long as they are properly cared for. Monaka, Uiro, Uni, and Toro have everything they need!

These pygmy hedgehogs appear in a slew of Instagram businesses and photoshoots. Many of the captions require Japanese knowledge, but as the old adage goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look at some of these critters’ hilarious mishaps.

They’re frequently seen out on new adventures, suited up (miniature hats are a particular favorite). When things get too much for them, they both crawl up under a blanket and sleep — either alone or together.

Of all the animals, Azuki seems to have the most uncontrolled wandering attitude.

It’s enough to make us want to hold a pygmy hedgehog in our hands. Before you pursue this offer, be sure it is legal in your state. Hawaii, Washington, Nebraska, New York, California, and Georgia have all ruled it illegal to retain these animals, with more cities likely to follow suit. Hedgehogs that escape into the wild can become a nuisance, causing damage to the area’s fragile ecosystem.
