It all started with a postcard and after a few minutes turned into tears.

James Xuereb happily affiliated a new member of the family, a Bichon puppy named Lumo.

Pets are part of the family, sometimes for generations.

The Xuereb family lost two fuzzy family members less than three weeks apart. Both dogs gave up and the house was empty as a result.

But it was James Xuereb who had the most hardship moving forward after Lucy and Nemo’s pass.

As his birthday approached, his wife and daughter put their plan into action.

They sat him down as well as gave him a greeting card to read aloud. James rolled his eyes, smiling at them, thinking they were doing a great job. When he opened it, tears flowed.

Opening the card was like opening a new door in his life. He introduced Lumo, the family’s new dog.

Many dogs do not have the chance to get into a caring home. Lumo is currently with a family that will nurse, play as well as love him until the end of time.

And James Xuereb is starting a new chapter in his life where the new puppy can pick up where the first pets left off.
