The little boy is fascinated by this edifice. This disabled boy received a personal stand as a gift

He uses this stop on daily basis and feels like a real tower in it.

Ryder Killam from Bradford, USA, was born with spina bifida and has been confined to a wheelchair since the age of two. He frequently peed outside while waiting for the school bus. Social networks have solved the problem, a regional school teacher, as well as his students, are learning joinery.

The boy’s dad, Tim, initially made an attempt to solve the problem by himself. He set up a huge umbrella near the road, under which the Horseman hid from the weather while waiting for the bus. But it was not a solution.

Tim then made a Facebook post asking for assistance. Perhaps someone already has a ready-made shed for these purposes and he does not need it.

Dan McCann, a regional school teacher, responded to the message. He collected a group of teenage schoolchildren who are just learning woodworking as well as construction technologies. Together they create a stand for Ryder.

The little boy is fascinated by this edifice. According to his dad, „he is in contact with him all the time.“ The sizes of the building are 1.5 meters by 2.5 meters. There is enough area for both the rider’s stroller as well as an adult companion.

Students of three grades of a comprehensive school worked on the project. Dan McCain has been teaching building technology there for 27 years.

Home Depot contributed approximately $300 worth of timber. The rest of the costs ($600) were paid by the boy’s dad. Construction took six weeks. There is even a special mark with the name of the child at the bus stop. He uses this stop on daily basis and feels like a real tower in it.
